In Remembrance
On Remembrance Sunday, the 10th of November, approximately 15 people gathered at The Peace Garden in Victory Park to remember those who lost their lives in conflict. Chairman Adrian Cross read the poem ‘For the Fallen’ by Laurence Binyon, and the names of those 71 from the parish who lost their lives in battle were read by Vice Chairman Clive White, and Councillor Linda Stinchcombe, this was followed by a playing of The Last Post as Chairman Adrian Cross, laid the wreath.
The rugby players of Cainscross Rugby Club also stopped at 11.00 and stood in lines for the minute silence. There were refreshments in St Matthews church hall afterwards.
Thanks also, to the ladies at Cainscross WI who lovingly decorated the Peace Garden and trees at the entrance in Victory Park with their Poppy creations.
